		<description>Thanks for the notes, Scott.  I&#039;m sorry I won&#039;t be able to attend this evening, but thought I&#039;d offer a couple of comments.

One is that, though I thought I pretty much knew Genesis from years of church attendance, I did pick up some interesting tidbits of new knowledge.  Such as: Abram and Sarai&#039;s jaunt into Egypt before they became full-fledged members of God&#039;s covenant.  Am I wrong in my sense that much of Abram&#039;s wealth seems to have been derived from his wife/sister&#039;s &quot;relationship&quot; with Pharaoh?

I think the most moving moment for me so far is the point when Esau meets his returning brother with tears and open arms, when he had been expecting violence.  As the eldest of three girls, the theme of sibling rivalry that runs through Genesis has a lot of resonance for me.
